An outstanding example of early Frank Matranga Studio ceramic and clay art. This colorful ceramic piece displays an abstractly styled sailboat. This example is signed on the front as well as noted on the back: "First of Matranga Sailboats" Dec 1st 1967". Many of his pieces from this era were iconic and are highly collectable today. This is the first of its kind that we have seen and can assure the buyer that this is an exceedingly rare example. The piece sits on a fabric covered frame board. We obtained this from the original owner, an avid collector and purchaser of art in the 1950s-1960s Era. Meant to be framed on a wall. We include FREE SHIPPING in the listing price. Some exceptions apply, so please read the full shipping details below.
Condition report: No damage to the artwork. Mint condition throughout other than one small stain beneath the work on the fabric covered frame. Signature is easy to read and a note was made on the back noting this was within the first set of sailboats he ever produced. 9.5/10 condition rating.
Measurements: 17.5 H x 12.5 W
