This set of Finn Juhl model 133 or "spade" lounge chair are not only beautiful and comfortable, but historically important. Designed in 1953, it was the first industrially produced chair made of teak, a wood Juhl liked for it's rich, warm color and ease of finishing (he liked a simple oil finish on the wood). A new kind of saw blade had to be developed since ordinary blades would dull quickly due to the natural oils in the wood. It was Juhl's use of teak that popularized the wood among Scandinavian designers and forever linked it to Danish modern. These examples are in near mint condition and were obtained from the original owern. Brand new nude / light can colored top grain leather upholstery throughout the piece. Truly an outstanding chair set that will light up any room or space. Each piece is signed by the manufacturer. Please see all photos to ensure you know what you are buying.
