This piece was signed by the artist Sawako Shintani, an Japanese artist who has sculpted in a variety of mediums including wood, concrete, and bronze. In recent years, she has focused her attention on working in ceramics. Harmony is Shintani's first public artwork in the United States. Shintani has lived in Los Angeles since 1970. The brass nude sculpture sits upon the paper and then framed. The subject matter is multiple abstract shaped nude women. Unique style.

In 1962, Shintani received her BFA in sculpture at the Kyoto University of Fine Arts followed by additional studies in sculpture and ceramics at the Chouinard Art School. The artist has sculpted in a variety of mediums including wood, concrete, and bronze. In recent years, she has focused her attention on working in ceramics. Harmony is Shintani's first public artwork in the United States. Shintani has lived in Los Angeles since 1970.
