Matching set of rarely seen teak AR-3 speakers with serial: 66164 and 66159. The set comes from the original owner. Since purchase, they were in a sealed wood case. The Set comes in teak and all original markings with some minor tag loss. These are sold as is and there are no returns or guarantees of any kind. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. The AR-3 Speaker is among the most collectable out there. The look was pure and clean, just a plain, wood-veneered box, but lurking behind the knit-cloth grille was the world's first production dome tweeter and dome midrange drivers, and a 12-inch cone woofer. By today's standards, the AR-3 wasn't all that small-it came in at 25 inches tall, 14 inches wide, and 11.5 inches deep, and weighed 47 pounds. In 1958, it sold for $216 a pair, making it a very expensive speaker for its time.The plywood cabinets, crossover networks, and drivers were all made at the company's factory in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Build quality far exceeded industry standards, and AR was the first speaker company to provide a five-year warranty!
Condition report: Very good condition overall. Everything appears to work but cannot guarentee anything as I am not going to take them apart or remove the original grills. I am leaving this to the buyer to test or restore. 9/10 condition rating.

Free shipping applies only within the contiguous U.S. only except for East coast which is 100$ flat rate. Orders shipping overseas, including Hawaii and Alaska, as well as any U.S.-based islands or addresses requiring a ferry, do not qualify for free shipping.
