Rarely seen Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates, ‘Havana’ lounge chair and ottoman, walnut and Light green upholstery with walnut, United States, 1960s.(This item is meant mainly for the European market.) This lounge chair and ottoman with small walnut armrests and wheels underneath each item, are designed by Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates. The tapered wooden legs complement the soft, round design of the chair with ottoman perfectly. The ottoman, circular besides one dent, fits exactly onto the front of the armchair, resulting in a chaise longue or daybed. The armrests are a quirky details and thanks to their pointy design resemble paw-like elements. The chair isn’t a shy piece, as is nothing of the flamboyant designer Pearsall. The upholstery of this piece has been done by our expert upholstery team. Adrian Pearsall (1925-2011), trained as an architectural engineer, was a sailor and interior designer. In 1952, Pearsall opened his own furniture company ‘Craft Associates. Pearsall designed some of the most sensuous, gracious midcentury design pieces around. His pieces are characterized by flamboyant curves, upswept shapes and stretched proportions.Please see all photos to ensure you know what you are buying.
